Inmate Assaults Corrections Officer At Capital Region Jail, Police Say An inmate at a local jail is facing more charges after allegedly assaulting a corrections officer. The incident happened Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Saratoga County jail in Ballston Spa. Sheriff’s officials said Jose Guity, age 25, of Queens, kicked the officer in the ribs, injuring them. The officer was treated at an urgent care facility in Malta and was released. On Tuesday, Feb. 27, Guity was arraigned in Saratoga Springs City Court on one count of second-degree assault, a felony. He was returned to the county jail without bail.

The crash occurred in Orange County around 1 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 27 on I-87 in Woodbury killing Otsego County resident Erika J. Gargan, age 36, of Schuyler Lake. According to Tara McCormick of the New York State Police, troopers responded to a serious injury crash between a 2021 Honda CRV and a pedestrian on I-87 southbound, between exit 15a (Sloatsburg) and exit 16 (Harriman). Alert Issued For East Greenbush 15-Year-Old Missing For 10 Days Police in the region are asking for help in locating a missing teenage girl who hasn’t been seen in over a week. Rensselaer County resident Francis Jett, age 15, was last seen in Troy on Saturday, Feb. 17, according to East Greenbush Police. No other information was given. Sullivan County resident Marcus Molnar, age 46, of Barryville, was arrested on Saturday, Feb. 24, for failure to pay child support. Jeraud Anthony, age 38, of the Bronx, was arrested on multiple charges Monday, Feb. 12, in connection with a stolen catalytic converter outside a business in Fairfield County.
