A Toms River ex-convict was accused of committing more than 15 burglaries in a week, including at least one when he was armed, authorities said. Christopher Green, 31, was arrested on Wednesday, May 1, the Lakewood Police Department said in a news release. He was wanted in the string of burglaries in Lakewood and Toms River from Saturday, Mar. 30 to Saturday, Apr. 6. A Florida man was arrested after TSA agents at Newark Airport found a loaded pistol in his carry-on, authorities said. It was part of what threatens to be a record year with more than 5,000 guns intercepted at airports throughout the country so far compared with 6,542 for ALL of 2023. A doctor from Philadelphia who has been working as a librarian at Princeton University but known globally for his scholarly work has died following a pedestrian crash in Scotland. William Noel, 58, was struck by a Citroen Relay van in the evening hours of Wednesday, April 10 in Edinburgh, police in Scotland said. Trapped Construction Worker Dies In NJ Trench Tragedy: Police
A construction worker was killed after he was trapped in a large hole in Kenilworth on the morning of Monday, May 6, authorities said. Around 9 a.m., the construction workers were attempting to install a storm drain in the back of the business on Monroe Avenue using an excavator when the man became trapped, Kenilworth police said. First responders attempted life saving measures but the worker, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
