The team traveled on Sunday to play in the first tournament of the season, representatives with the team said in a press release.
"This was a very young team, being made up of mostly third graders, and they played against teams consisting of mostly fifth graders," representatives said in the release. "After stumbling in the first game, Pelham regrouped and came out on fire in the playoff rounds to capture the Bowl."
Pelham Youth Rugby is in its sixth year with more than 80 kids playing rugby in grades 2-11 on flag teams for elementary and U12, U14 and U16 tackle teams, according to the release.
