Remember To Vote On Pelham School Budget And Board

PELHAM, N.Y. - Pelham residents can vote Tuesday on the schools budget, and although unnecessary, on the three unopposed candidates for the Pelham Board of Education Tuesday at the Pelham High School Main Gym from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The 2013-14 school budget, described as efficient and cost effective by Interim Superintendent Charles T. Wilson on the schools website, has a projected tax levy increase of 3.25%, which is below the State cap of 3.98% allowed for Pelham schools. It calls for staff reductions of 7.4 employees. 

The three school board candidates are Tom Imperato, Lisa Kiernan and Peggy O'Leary.

Imperato is president of the Council of PTAs and a former PTA president of Siwanoy.

Lisa Kiernan is in her second term on the school board and is its current president.

Peggy O’Leary is completing her first term on the board and seeking another.
