Pelham Orchestra, Chorus Take Honors At State Contest

PELHAM, N.Y. -- The Pelham Memorial High School Orchestra and Chorus both recently took home awards at the New York State School Music Association Majors Festival.

The orchestra received a gold award and rating in Level 5 under the direction of Michele Zanky, while the PMHS chorus received a sliver designation in Level 4 under the direction of Maria Abeshouse.

Orchestras, choruses and bands compete for ratings and critiques on performances of music on six levels, with six being the most difficult. 

The NYSSMA Majors Festival is held each year throughout the state.
