Pelham Eighth-Grader Advances To National Geographic NY Bee

PELHAM, N.Y. -- Kudos to Pelham Middle School 8th-grader Vikram Jallepalli, who was recently named one of 100 students statewide who will advance to the National Geographic New York State Bee.

Jallepalli advanced to the state contest after winning the school-wide Bee in December and then went on to score a perfect 100 on a qualifying test given to students across the state, school officials said.

A look at the study guide for the event shows questions will include regions across the entire globe and items about food crops, migration across the world, oceans, and ecosystems.

The winner of the New York State Bee, to be held at the New York State Museum in Albany on March 31, will move on to compete in the national competition in May.
