Michael Yazurlo denies the charge, but in a complaint filed last week said that Spano and other officials threatened to go to the press with accusations that he paid $2,300 to watch the movies in his office, according to lohud.com.

Yazurlo stepped down from his $199,000-a-year job after the alleged threat was delivered on Nov. 20, 2015 while citing health concerns.

Yazurlo was appointed as head of the Yonkers school district in May 2014. A Yonkers native, he previously enjoyed a lengthy career in education that included years as a teacher and administrator in Yonkers, 13 years as superintendent of the Tuckahoe Union Free School District and service as an associate professor of graduate education at the College of Saint Rose and SUNY Stony Brook.

In a statement Friday, a lawyer for the Yonkers Corporation Counsel called Yazurlo's accusations "unfortunate" and said the school district would seek to have the suit dismissed "at the earliest opportunity," according to lohud.com.
