Moreno was born in Rincon, Puerto Rico, on June 30, 1932 to Francisco and Maria Tirado Moreno.
He lived in Westport and Queens, N.Y., before moving to Bridgeport, retiring from Bloomingdale's in New York City.
Moreno was predeceased by his parents, and nine brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife Violeta; his children Carlos Moreno and wife Lauren of Monroe, Liz Moreno, Evelyn Moreno of New York City, Maritza Moreno of Melbourne, Fla., Tesireita (Daisy) R. Venegas of Waverly, N.Y., Dr. Celia (Tati) M. Moreno Reed, Doris (Nene) Thornton, Elaine Moreno, and Carlos M. Moreno Jr.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother and sister, Rafael Moreno and wife Sonia of Rincon and Milagros Moreno of New York City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, at Main Street and Gorham Place in Trumbull, with a prayer service starting at 5 p.m.
