Members of the Scarsdale Police and Fire departments responded to an Old Lyme Road residence at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, where there were reports of smoke coming from a home.
Upon arrival, police officers and firefighters found no evidence of fire or smoke. Investigators spoke with the homeowner, who said that he did not call, and does not know who called, but noted that this has happened on several occasions.
Police said that the incident appears to have been falsely reported. Officers canvassed the area for any suspects or fire incidents to no avail. The incident is under investigation.
