WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - A Village of Pelham trustee is facing child pornography charges after being flagged by a website and flagged to authorities.

Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. said on Friday that 49-year-Christopher Reim had been arraigned in town court on felony charges of possessing and promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child.

According to Scarpino, a warrant for Reim’s arrest was obtained based on a CyberTipline report filed by ChatStep, an image/file sharing website, stating that a person at that location uploaded an image of child pornography to one of the site’s chatrooms.

Investigators with the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office High Technology Crime Bureau executed a search warrant at Reim’s home in Pelham early in the day Friday. During the execution of the warrant, Reim made admissions about having previously used ChatStep and looking online for images of children, Scarpino said.

A preliminary forensic examination of Reim’s computer devices indicated that he possessed images of sexual performances by children.

Reim was arrested and arraigned in Pelham Town Court, where bail was set at $5,000 bond over $2,500 cash. He is due back in court on Thursday, May 11.

According to the Village of Pelham's website, Reim has been a trustee since April 2014, and is currently the board liaison to the Fire Department.

Reim, his wife and son have lived in Pelham since 2011, the website says, noting Reim is a managing partner of Civitas Ventures, a venture capital fund and an adjunct professor at Columbia SIPA, Yale School of Management and the National Science Foundation.
