Pelham Resident's Car Damaged By Firework

PELHAM, N.Y. – A firework ignited on the roof of a Pelham resident’s car while he was visiting his mother in New Rochelle, the Pelham police reported. While inside his mother’s residence at 1:50 a.m. Sunday, the man heard “what sounded like a shotgun” and “observed a white flash from outside,” the report said.

The man left at 2:15 a.m. and noticed a “big dent” on the roof of his car, which was parked on the Pelham side of Pelhamdale Avenue. He headed to the Pelham Police Department to report the incident, and an officer photographed the car and damage. The car belongs to his father, who lives in Pelham, police said.
