Pelham Police: Copper Stolen From Home

PELHAM, N.Y. – A total of $200 in copper sheeting and $60 in hips for roofing were stolen from the garage of a home on Third Avenue, the homeowner told Pelham police at 10:33 a.m. Thursday. 

“There were no signs of forced entry and/or damage to the structure,” police said. The property was last seen at 4:30 p.m. June 25 and were noticed missing at 9 a.m. Thursday, the homeowner told police.

The Pelham Police Department also reported:

• Loud noises were reported on Fifth Avenue at 4:14 a.m. Sunday. Two officers responded and corrected the condition.

• A white male was reportedly holding a “rifle or BB gun" and "shooting at birds” at a home on Second Street at 1:02 p.m. Friday. But it turned out the man had a pressure washer and was washing a bird’s nest out of the gutters. All units were dispatched to the scene.

 • The Pelham Police Department responded to a River Avenue home at 4:32 a.m. Friday for an elderly male having trouble breathing. An officer administered oxygen before the Pelham Fire Department, paramedics and ambulance arrived. The man was transported to Sound Shore Medical Center.

• A $750 bicycle was stolen from a Boulevard home between 5 p.m. June 24 and 6 p.m. June 28. The victim told police he noticed the bike missing from his garage. A search of the area for witnesses yielded no results, police said.
