David Piparo, 51, of 1150 Lawrence Ave., Bronx, N.Y., pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree robbery, a felony, for holding a woman at gunpoint and stealing her 2001 BMW near the CVS Pharmacy, 4760 Boston Post Road, on Nov. 24, 2010.
Piparo, at the time on parole for a previous felony conviction, ordered the woman out of the vehicle and drove it away, the release from the district attorney’s office said.
He was arrested at an apartment in the Bronx on Dec. 3, 2010, and the car was found nearby, the release said.
Piparo was sentenced as a persistent violent felon having been previously convicted of three first-degree robberies, two in 1985 and one in 1996.
On Oct. 2, 2012, Piparo was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison for three other armed robberies, including one on Nov. 30, 2010, at Pelham Manor’s Tes Oros Jewelry Store and two others in the Bronx.
He will serve his federal sentence first, then his state prison term.
Assistant District Attorney Laura Murphy of the Superior Court Trial Division and Assistant District Attorney Justin Tolbert prosecuted the case.
