David B. Selleck, 81, Of Pelham, Retired Science Teacher

PELHAM, N.Y. - David B. Selleck of Pelham died  April 2. He was 81.

Selleck was born in Bay Shore on Oct. 4, 1931, to Lewis and Margaret (Sorensen) Selleck. He grew up in East Setauket. He graduated from Colgate University and received his master's degrees from Columbia University Teachers College and from Wesleyan University. He taught science for nearly 40 years at Albert Leonard Middle School in New Rochelle,  retiring in 1995. He was an assistant scoutmaster and advancement chairman for Troop 1 in Pelham for many years. He was a member of Huguenot Memorial Church in Pelham.

Selleck is survived by his wife,  Barbara Hang Selleck; children,  Timothy D. (Gloria) Selleck of Taylor, Texas, William A. (Meredith) Selleck of Bow, N.H., and Lauren M. Selleck of Pelham; five grandchildren; and nieces and  nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Burnell Hall Selleck of East Lansing, Mich.; and his sister, Merle Selleck Brown of Eastport.

A Memorial Service is being planned for June 15 at 3 p.m..
