PELHAM, N.Y. - Pelham residents are lucky when it comes to restaurants because of the many options they have to choose from. From Italian (La Fontanella Ristorante) and seafood (Cafe Regatta Oyster Bar and Grill) to American (M.A.D cafe) and Japanese (Edo), there are very few untapped cuisines.
However, residents differ on which restaurants are their favorites.
"The one I go to most often is Rockwells," said Kit Portrake. "It's fast and it's comfortable."
Rockwells American Restaurant is not her favorite though.
"There are others that are better, like Cafe Regatta," said the owner of Timeless Treasures. "There's no bad dish. Their food is exquisite. It's gourmet."
She also enjoys M.A.D cafe because of how comfortable and easygoing it is.
Dorothy Casa knew her favorite restaurant right away.
"I love Pelham Pizza," said the Accent on Antiques volunteer. "The eggplant parmesan is terrific and the hamburger down there is out of this world because the meat is very good. Everybody goes there."
Casa said that her favorite dishes were either the eggplant parmesan or eggplant pizza.
Pat O'Malley's favorite is La Fontanella Ristorante. "They have the best food there," said the owner of Pat's Hair Salon.
One of her waiting customers disagreed and stated, "I like Rigatoni's. I don't know if I have a favorite dish, but they have the best desserts."
