PELHAM, N.Y. February is Stress Management Awareness Month and Kellye Davis, a local author, is ready to take advantage of that with two free meditation class events at The Yoga Room. The two events will take place on Feb. 25 and Mar. 10 from 12 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
Davis, the author of The Bliss Principle: Easy Ways to Go from Stress to Peace, understands that Pelham residents lead stressful lives and must deal with the demands of work, school, the economy, parenting, relationships, and over-scheduled calendars and deadlines.
Stress is actually a normal and physical response to those life factors and situations that make us feel pressured, threatened or just all around uneasy, said Davis. However, clinical studies show that stress can cause weariness, mental fatigue and acerbate a host of health problems.
She is hoping that through the meditation classes that the Pelham residents will be relieved of their stress, even if just for a short time.
