PELHAM, N.Y. Timeless Treasures, located at 200 Sparks Ave., has been expanded, and the extra space will be used as a gallery for exhibiting paintings and artwork by local artists, says owner Kit Potrafke.
We realized after we moved into the space of 200 (Wolfs Lane) that we outgrew the space the minute we moved in, Potrafke said. So, when the yoga studio moved out and this space became available, we took it on cut a doorway through the way it used to be when it was previously an antiques store a few years back.
Potrafke pointed out that she now considers it not only an antiques store, but an art gallery as well, which sells furnishings, artwork and furniture.
She was thankful to the landlord, Anthony Labriola, for his work in providing the extra space as she explained the plans for the additional room.
He came in and cut a doorway with steps into our new large studio, Potrafke said. Every month, we would like to sponsor a new exhibit with an opening reception, and hold the exhibit for a month.
The storeowner is currently exhibiting contemporary art by Nicole Frumpkin, a SUNY New Paltz graduate student.
When this exhibit is finished, were going to be exhibiting all the paintings from her thesis, Potrafke said.
Potrafke noted that they will continue to show jewelry designed and manufactured by the late Jack LiBuono , who was a lifelong Pelham resident.
Customers to the store, which opened in September , have liked the gallery as even some have bought a few paintings, Potrafke said.
