Pelham Police: Two Nyac Ave. Cars Spray Painted

PELHAM, N.Y. – Two cars of a Nyac Avenue resident were damaged by spray paint between Monday at 9 p.m. and Tuesday at 5:45 a.m., the Pelham Police Department said. The victim called the police department Tuesday at 7:21 a.m. to report the incident and upon arrival, the officer noticed obscenities marking the gray 2010 Audi S5 and gray 2008 Honda CRV.

The victim believes the suspect is a woman at his job that he filed a complaint about to his supervisor, police said. Photos of the damage were taken by the officer and a Pelham detective was notified and will follow up.

The Pelham Police Department also reported:

Loose bullets: The DPW chief called Pelham police on Tuesday at 12:44 p.m. after one of his crews, working at Elderwood Avenue and Second Street, found four rounds of ammunition in a catch basin. The markings are REM UMC 17 and possibly 45 caliber, police said. They were turned over to a detective.

Suspicious email: A woman came into the Pelham police station Tuesday at 1:35 p.m. because of an email from “Scott the Sniper,” which said she would “be assassinated if the money was not paid,” police said. It is a known email scam, police said.

Suspicious car: A man in a black 2010 Huyndai Elantra was taking photos of a Highbrook Ave. home, which prompted the homeowner to call Pelham police on Tuesday at 2:29 p.m. All units were dispatched and a car matching the description was stopped. After running a background check on the man, police were told that he works for a realtor and was taking pictures for an appraisal.
