Pelham Company Donates Over $2,000 to Cancer Group

PELHAM, N.Y. – A.G. Williams Painting Company raised $2,600 and donated it all to Support Connection, a Westchester County-based not-for-profit organization that offers free, confidential support services to people nationwide who are affected by ovarian and breast cancer, according to a press release.

“We are deeply touched by the commitment of A.G. Williams to our organization,” said Katherine Quinn, the executive director of Support Connection, in the statement.

The money was presented to Quinn and her organization by Paul Viggiano, A.G. Williams’ director of business administration and marketing.

According to the press release, in September 2011, A.G. Williams pledged to contribute a portion of its profits from every paint job through the end of the year to Support Connection. Their mission was called Paint It Teal/Paint It Pink, which corresponds with teal for ovarian cancer awareness and pink for breast cancer awareness.

The third generation family owned and operated painting company has served the tri-state area for over 100 years. On Oct. 2, 2011 they raised more than $1,000 when they participated in the 17th annual Support Connection Support-A-Walk at FDR State Park in Yorktown, N.Y., according to the press release.

Viggiano was quick to point out all the things that Support Connection, which has been in existence since 1996 and is located in Yorktown Heights, has done for the people of Westchester County.

“Support Connection makes a difference in the lives of our neighbors in Westchester County and southern Fairfield County,” said Viggiano in the press release. “With our contribution, we help Support Connection in its mission to provide emotional, social and educational support services to women affected by breast or ovarian cancer, and their families and friends.”
