Long-Range Forecast Predicts More Mild Temps In Pelham

The Polar Vortex is forecast to remain near the north pole, keeping Arctic air away from this region.

The Climate Prediction Center is calling for above-normal temperatures across this area through the middle of the month.

A strong El Niño pattern similar to the one seen in 1997 has taken hold in much of the country west of the Mississippi River.

El Niño is a weather pattern that develops from a warm band of water in the Pacific near the equator. The resulting weather patterns can cause heavy precipitation in the southwest United States, but warmer and drier winters in the northern Midwest and Northeast.
