Details Emerge From Pelham Manor Home Robbery

PELHAM MANOR, N.Y. – Pelham Manor Police are looking for the armed man who robbed a Townsend Avenue family of $31,930 worth of property on Friday morning.

The man, who police said is in his 40s, was seen by eyewitnesses wearing blue jeans and a light to medium grey colored hooded sweatshirt, which covered his face.

The man approached a Pelham resident on foot at the corner of Peace Street and Townsend Avenue, according to police. He entered the victim's driveway and asked him about his landscaping service. With that, he displayed a black semi-automatic handgun, and forced the victim into the house, police said.

Once he was inside, the man found other victims and forced them into the kitchen at gunpoint. He made two of the victims give him their jewelry, watches and cash. He then placed the stolen goods into his sweatshirt.

He left northbound on Peace Street towards Boston Post Road at 10:22 a.m. He stole a $700 white Gucci watch, $230 in cash, a $25,000 white gold engagement ring, among other items.

Pelham and Pelham Manor police units responded when one of the victims called 911 at 10:22 a.m. and stated she had been robbed at gunpoint.
