PELHAM, N.Y. A Pelham man was robbed at gunpoint on Wednesday at 12:15 a.m. right near the Metro-North train station.
According to police, as the victim was approaching Cliff Avenue, he heard footsteps quickly closing in on him. When he turned around, he saw a black male wearing a black ski mask and holding a black semi-automatic handgun. He stated that the man was approximately 20 to 25 years old.
The suspect told him, Head down. Get on the ground, and while he was lying down, the suspect said, Empty your pockets. The victim took everything out of his pockets and put it all on the ground. The items he took out of his pockets were a $500 AT&T cellphone, a Citibank credit card and debit card, an Alliance Bank debit card, $15, his health insurance card, New York State drivers license, and his wallet.
He then heard the suspects footsteps running westbound towards Highbrook Avenue. The victim remained on the ground for about a minute before going home and notifying the Pelham Police Department.
Once the officers arrived at the mans house, he relayed the incident to them, and they canvassed the area for the perpetrator or any clues. The search yielded no results. The victim stated to police that he believed the suspect was possibly at 98 First St. because he did not see him at any point in front of him while walking.
The Pelham resident tried tracking his phone through an online GPS, but it had been shut off. He cancelled all of his debit and credit cards.
