PELHAM, N.Y. Pelham Produce Market is the oldest store in Pelham. Richie Bell owns the store , which his father opened in 1921.
Bell still has a newspaper clipping about a fire in the store in 1926. He used the picture to end a debate with a man who said the market was not the oldest store in Pelham.
The 80-year-old man is a lifelong resident of Pelham and has a field named after him. He once had an entire day in his honor in the town.
