Frank Pfeiffer Jr., 83, Pelham Manor Plumber

PELHAM MANOR, N.Y. – Frank "Whitey" R. Pfeiffer Jr., a long-time resident of Pelham Manor, died Wednesday, May 16, at home surrounded by his family. He was 83.

A master plumber for over 50 years, Pfeiffer founded ABCO Plumbing and Heating Corp. in 1981. He also volunteered as a firefighter in Pelham Manor for 15 years.

Born Sept. 11, 1928, in New York City, he was the son of Frank and Josephine Pfeiffer. A resident of Pelham Manor since 1970, Pfeiffer was a 15-year veteran of the U.S. Naval Reserves.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jean; two sons, Frank (Carmen) Pfeiffer and John (Maureen) Pfeiffer; a daughter, Maryann (Richard) Ellenbogen; and eight grandchildren.

A wake will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Pelham Funeral Home. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Pelham Manor.
