Celebrate National Family Day With Pelham Pact

PELHAM, N.Y. -- Pelham Parents and Community Together encourages parents in the community to be more involved in their children’s lives through Family Day, which takes place nationwide Monday.

Family Day is a national movement to raise awareness about the important role parents play in raising substance-free kids.

Launched in 2001, Family Day celebrates the time parents spend with their kids and encourages them to use those everyday moments as opportunities to connect, share and build a strong bond with their children.

"Research shows that children of hands-on parents are far less likely to smoke, drink or use other drugs," Pelham PACT said in a statement.

A free family activity kit is offered by CASAColumbia, the founder of Family Day.
