PELHAM, N.Y. An overview of events for the year will be the the topic when the Pelham Special Education Parent Teacher Association meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Assistant superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services Rosemary Matthews and Lauren Ribeiro, chair of the committee for pre-school special education and special education, will talk to parents in the Pelham Middle School Library.
The first event will be a talk by Barbara Boroson, author of "Autism Spectrum Disorders in the Mainstream Classroom," at the Pelham Public Library on Oct. 11.
Children will then have breakfast for dinner at 6 p.m. Nov. 9 in the Pelham Middle School Library.
Parents can then hear Pelham teachers and therapists speak at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 in the same location.
Naomi Brickel of the Westchester Institute for Human Development addresses the association about parents participation in enforcing support for their child at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13
The year finishes up at 7:30 p.m. April 4 when Pelham Prospect Hill School psychologist Dr. Lauren Carner talks about how parents can teach their children how to learn and get along with others.
