Periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties overnight into the Monday morning commute.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the tristate area, including Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Rockland, Orange, Bergen, Passaic and Fairfield counties, from 10 p.m. Sunday until 7 a.m. Monday.

While only a total accumulations of a trace to a hundredth of an inch is expected, motorists are urged to use caution while driving as conditions will be slippery before temperatures warm up during the day Monday.

The precipitation will likely start as snow Sunday night before transitioning to sleet and freezing rain overnight and early Monday morning.

The overnight low will be around 30 degrees with the wind-chill factor between 20 and 25.

Monday's high temperature will reach the low 40s in the afternoon, but it will remain windy, with the wind-chill factor making it feel like it's between 25 and 35.

Tuesday will be partly sunny with a high in the upper-40s.
