Westchester Could See Some Sleet, Snow Before Rain Arrives

Slippery conditions are possible for the evening commute as a storm system moves through the area Friday that will be all rain in the Westchester and Rockland in the late afternoon and evening.

Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for several northern counties in the area, including Putnam, Dutchess and Orange counties. Advisories have not been issued for Westchester or Rockland.

There is a chance of snow and sleet before 1 p.m. Friday in Westchester and Rockland, then rain is likely as the temperature climbs to a high in the mid-30s. Little or no snow and sleet accumulation expected. The rain is expected to continue until around midnight.
