Rain Does Not Deter Determined Dog from Walking

PELHAM, N.Y. – A flood watch for Westchester County and rain in Pelham could not stop the determined Mollie from taking her daily walk. Her owner, Kate Ward, had no choice but to go along for the ride.

"She doesn't allow for the weather to deter us from going out," Ward said of her white dog.

Ward, a 12 year resident of Pelham, walks her dog twice a day, rain or shine. The pair walked along Fifth Avenue late Friday morning just before the heavy rain arrived.

As for the flood watch, Ward said she thinks the Hutchinson River Parkway will be a bigger problem than the town itself.

The National Weather Service predicts at least a chance of showers all weekend in addition to patchy fog. The high temperatures will hover in the mid-70s, while the low temperatures will be in the high 60s.
