More Pelham Rain Ahead for Friday

PELHAM, N.Y. – Rain has not treated Pelham residents kindly in the past, but Wednesday night’s storm, which lasted into Thursday morning, luckily did not cause flooding in the area. There were flash floods in the community during last summer's deluge followed by Hurricane Irene.

There is only a 20% percent chance of rain for the rest of Thursday, but it s expected to return early Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The raindrops are forecasted to start falling around 3 a.m. and continue around 11 a.m. According to the NWS, the temperature is expected to be a high of 42 degrees with a low of 27 while the wind gusts could occasionally top 40 mph.

Saturday is expected to be partly cloudy with a high of 36 degrees and a low of 21. The sun will peak out on Sunday, but it will be a brisk 29 degrees and there will be a low of 19, according to the NWS.

Pelham citizens will again see sunny skies on Monday and with reasonable high and low winter temperatures of 34 and 31 degrees respectively. The rain showers are expected back again on Tuesday, but the temperature will be a balmy 47 degrees, according to the NWS.
