"The city that believes"
We have a crooked government?
We have a convict sitting in a seat of power?
We have the highest taxes in the county as a result of corruption?
We are the laughing stock of the county?
We have inept and unqualified people making decisions for our tax dollars?
I believe the MOTTO of this CITY should be change to:
THE CITY THAT GRIEVES
(Tears of Sincerity)
As posted on earlier comment:
"HOW WILL YOU BE REMEMBERED?
Will it be as a sniveling lawbreaker using his race as a shield for his misdeeds?
Will it be as a MAN facing up to his misdeeds and resigning with some dignity?
Do us all (including yourself) a favor and resign."
How can you be trusted to manage our tax obligations when you, apparently, have total disregard for your own?
Get caught cheating once and you will always be labeled as a cheater.
Get caught performing shady transactions and you will always be known as a crook.
Serving in a position of power, while on probation, time will determine how you will be labeled.
“Cop says Mount Vernon discriminated against her”
“On Jan. 17, 2014, the lawsuit said Carpenter visited Davis "and complained to him about being treated differently.’
"During the conversation Davis asked Jennifer if she was sleeping with Comm. Raynor," the lawsuit said. "Although the question was entirely inappropriate, Jennifer politely indicated that she was not."
(to be continued)
BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT YOU BEG FOR!
I wonder how difficult it will be for a Regal (king complex) to conform to the edicts of perceived lesser beings? (Remember KINGS DO NOT PAY TAXES)
Will it be challenging to walk the straight and narrow, when a person has been so intoxicated, FOR YEARS, with POWER MADNESS?
Will the thoughts of being monitored result in paranoia of the King?
KARMA, IN HAND WITH JUSTICE, WORKS IN MANY WAYS.
AH! The plea, the plea, does it really subtract from self-worth?
Probation for Tax Evasion is one thing gained from GROVELING and SNIVELING.
But what is not gained is THE RESPECT from the MOUNT VERNON CITIZEN MAJORITY.
Look closely in the mirror and ask the image, has the begging and groveling resulted in loss of SELF- RESPECT or how others will view the MANHOOD of the image?
“I think there are two forms of inevitability: the inevitable that we as humans control, and the inevitable that God controls.
An example of inevitability for humans would be changing out a car. I will inevitably buy a new car, but the longer I drive my current one only delays the inevitable.
An example of inevitability for God would be: allowing a storm to flood my car, thus speeding my search for a new car. In this case, God’s inevitability overruled my delay.
So in the context of the world, I believe humans can control what is inevitable, but God can (and will) take the reins at any moment.”
“There are a lot of times that we have negative things to say about our city, not just outside, but people here in Mount Vernon, but we shouldn’t. THESE PEOPLE NEED OUR HELP.”
In my opinion, it appears that the people seem to be helping you, isn’t it the duty, of the city council, TO SERVE THE PEOPLE rather than implying that you, and your peers, are helping the people from a higher level?
Isn’t the job of the city council, to pass legislation to improve our quality of life?
Are the city council members citizens of this community looking for honest government void of underhandedness and greed?
ARE YOU AND THE REST OF YOUR COUNCIL MEMBERS SERVANTS FOR THE PEOPLE?
OR, ARE YOU AND YOUR MEMBERS, PAWNS OF THE MACHINE?
Well, Richard Thomas, are you going to take this from a prone position?
I believe you are being tested, show us what you are made of.
Talk can be bought; honest leadership in hopes of quality of life improvement will never be for sale.
You have talked the talk now let’s see if you can walk the walk.
MORE FUEL FOR THE POWERFUL MACHINE TO KEEP THIS CITY IN CHAOS.
Again crooked politics trumps honest government.
In my very tax paying honest opinion, the dysfunction does not miss a beat in the CITY WHO GRIEVES.
Was Thomas out maneuvered and put down because of his beliefs about the present leadership of this administration?
Pay close attention to this yes man’s acceptance speech, I have my opinion, the judgement is yours.
The puppet masters have been able to put one of their prized puppet slaves into a seat of power.
HAPPY NEW YEAR’S EVE!
The budget is as always late in prep and filled with bloat.
The connections remain the same and the deal master still pulls the strings of his deal slaves.
We are on the verge of a new 1/2 fiscal and full calendar year; hopefully there will be a more qualified person to replace the person, now occupying the position of Mayor.
OH! HAPPY DAY (for some) (sadness for others)
At 12:01 A.M. the countdown begins to the SENTENCING DAY (January 26, 2015) for the man pleading for mercy attempting to avoid the slamming of the iron cage.
"A budget surplus is valuable for local governments, as it allows municipalities to pay off debt, save the funds for the future or immediately upgrade city infrastructure where it is needed. It remains unclear what Mount Vernon officials have planned for the surplus. "
FOR THE RECORD:
I, like many others, want this person to vacate the seat of power.
I am an honest, hardworking; tax paying concerned citizen who desires accountability for my tax obligations. A citizen seeking honest and fair government by the officials elected to those positions of power
I am not a part of this group who has hired an attorney to oust the Mayor.
I would prefer to see this man resign with some dignity as a MAN. If this person does not resign or is legally removed, then I would prefer:
THE PEOPLE KICK HIM OUT VIA THE ELECTION PROCESS
THE MAN IN THE MIRROR (Take a good look at YOURSELF!)
"TAX EVASION IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE UNDER FEDERAL AND STATE STATUTES. A person who is convicted is subject to a prison sentence, a fine, or both. The failure to file a federal tax return is a misdemeanor, but a consistent pattern of failure to file for several years will constitute evidence that these failures were part of a scheme to avoid the payment of taxes. If this pattern is established, the violator may be charged with a felony under section 7201 of the Internal Revenue Code."
A good leader has an exemplary character. It is of utmost importance that a leader is trustworthy to lead others. A leader needs to be trusted and be known to live their life with honestly and integrity. A good leader "walks the talk" and in doing so earns the right to have responsibility for others. True authority is born from respect for the GOOD CHARACTER AND TRUSTWORTHINESS OF THE PERSON WHO LEADS.
Let’s take a look at personal characteristics expected from a person sitting in the mayoral seat of power:
THE MAN IN THE MIRROR (Take a look at yourself)
Honesty refers to A FACET OF MORAL CHARACTER and connotes positive and virtuous attributes such as integrity, truthfulness, and straightforwardness, including straightforwardness of conduct, along with the absence of lying, cheating, theft, etc. Furthermore, honesty means being trustworthy, loyal, fair, and sincere.
“Davis declined to comment on the letter Monday, saying "that's a legal question and I'm not a lawyer." But the 76-year-old mayor blamed the push to oust him from office on frequent critics, including community activist Samuel Rivers and City Council Vice President Richard Thomas — both of whom denied the claim.
All I can tell you is that there are people who are running through the streets trying to kick up as much controversy as they can," Davis said. "People know this for what it is. This is a continual barrage of people who have contributed nothing to the direction of the city going forward."
Check this out Davis:
“As adults, though, it seems many of us forget the lessons we learned as children -- that we make choices and our choices have consequences, which, more often than not, we are responsible for.
“Most experts agree, taking personal responsibility for yourself is not only the adult thing to do, it's the right thing to do and one of the only ways you can remain the happy, healthy person you want to be.”
Most of the honest citizens believe this person has shamed this entire city, this person’s actions have confirmed that belief and this city has become (in my opinion) the most dysfunctional of Westchester County.
“Davis contends a memo giving instruction on how to write the letter and where to send it was distributed only upon request, News 12 Westchester said.”
Surely I must believe this as much as I believe the sun sets in the East.
This whole mayor of Mount Vernon episode reminds me of the nursery rhyme:
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall.
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the king's horses
and all the King's men
couldn't put Humpty together again!
A full life is said to be when a person reaches age eighty, do all of us a favor submit your resignation, YOU’RE DONE!
