Now that his time in the Yankee’s dugout has concluded, Girardi has announced that he will be taking his talents into the studio as an analyst for MLB Network, while Boone goes from an announcing gig at ESPN to the helm of the Bronx Bombers.

Although it’s been a slow offseason for many players, coaches and teams, Girardi, who lives in Purchase, began his new gig this week, working on “MLB Tonight” as a studio analyst alongside Bill Ripken, Mike Lowell and Greg Amsinger.

Girardi became available after the Yankees decided not to renew his contract at the end of last season, after he managed his team within a game of the World Series before falling to the eventual champion Houston Astros.

A former Manager of the Year with the Florida Marlins, Girardi played for the Yankees from 1996 to 1999, and he has brought the franchise four World Series rings.
