Registration has opened for the 41st iteration of the race, which will kick off at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10. The Challenge includes a one-mile race for short distance competitors and a five-mile race for runners looking for a longer course, with the “challenge” to run both races.

All races start and finish at the Tuckahoe Community Center. The one-mile race is mostly a flat track, with the longer race a half-hour later that will feature several rolling hills between the second and fourth miles.

There will be several prizes for participants, including awards for the top three male and female finishers, the top 14, and the fastest runners in several age groups.

This year, proceeds will benefit the Tuckahoe Public Library and Tuckahoe Beautification.

Registration forms are available at Tuckahoe Village Hall and the Tuckahoe Village website. If you pre-register, prices vary from $10 – one race for children or seniors – to $25 – for those doing “The Challenge.” Costs go up an additional $5 for runners who register the day of the race.
