Pelham's Senerchia Stellar in Shutout at Hastings

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Pelham’s Anthony Senerchia took a no-hitter into the top of the sixth inning Friday as the Pelicans (4-2) shut out the Yellow Jackets, 7-0.

Senerchia threw a complete game one-hitter but lost the no-hit bid in the sixth. He struck out five batters.

Brilliant as Senerchia was on the mound, he also had a successful day at the plate. The pitcher went 1-for-2 with two RBI and a double. He also was hit by a pitch.

Other Pelicans contributed offensively, as well. David Wright went 2-for-4 with two RBI, while Mark Hernandez, Doug Lang and Mike Murray each drove in a run.
