PELHAM, N.Y. -- Pelhams District 21 Little League 11-year-old squad begins play in the New York State Sectional playoffs Wednesday when the locals meet District 19 champion Warwick in upstate Pine Bush at 8 p.m. Pelham won its District title 10 days ago to qualify for the tournament and with a win will advance to the next round against District 18 champion Stony Point of Rockland County Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the winners bracket. A loss in the double-elimination tournament would put Pelham in the losers bracket against an undetermined opponent Thursday at 5 p.m. Coaches Mike Ming, Jay Reynolds and Vinny Mazzaro lead the Pelham team.
