"It was a terrific day," Yankees coach Josh Duitz said. "The kids really enjoyed it. We had the opening ceremonies prior to the game, and it was all really nice, they did an excellent job. Everyone had a great time, and it was nice to see Rich Perdue honored."

The New Rochelle Dodgers picked up their first victory of the young spring season as well, beating the New Rochelle Yankees, 8-2.

The two Majors teams – in the 10-12 age group – both played well on a beautiful spring afternoon, in front of a small, but appreciative crowd.

The Dodgers evened their record at 1-1, while the Yankees fell to 0-2.
