PELHAM, N.Y. -- In the third inning of the Pelham-Dobbs Ferry varsity baseball game on Tuesday, the Eagles intentionally walked Dylan Tuttle, opting to pitch to Joe Bitteto.
The designated hitter made Dobbs Ferry pay for this by ripping a double into center field, scoring David Wright.
Two innings later, Dobbs Ferry again issued Tuttle a free pass in order to pitch to Bitteto again. Apparently, Dobbs Ferry did not learn a lesson as Bitteto delivered a single, scoring Wright, with the final run in a 4-1 Pelham victory at Glover Field.
Bitteto also drew a walk in his other at-bat. He and Wright each had two hits and two RBI.
Joe has always been a good hitter, winning pitcher Gjon Ljucovic said. I guess they didnt know about him because we were on JV last year. When Joe puts the bat on the ball, he hits it far.
