Following months of searching, the Board stated that it’s nearing the conclusion of its search and has narrowed the the field to three finalists who have conducted multiple interviews with members.

The Board stated that members are currently working with consultants at Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates as they engage the last steps of the search process. A successor for Giarrizzo is expected to be named within two weeks.

“Provided that all goes well, we are cautiously optimistic that the search can be concluded within the next two weeks,” they said in a statement on Thursday. “We are hopeful that this would allow time for the chosen candidate to transition with incumbent Superintendent Giarrizzo before he departs in August.”

For months, the Board says it has “worked to build a leadership profile and identify highly-qualified candidates.” The process involved the input of more than 600 members of the community in group meetings, multiple individual interviews and an online survey. The search started with 49 candidates, 16 of which were interviewed by consultants before being presented to the Board for final consideration.

“We look forward to completing the search and presenting you with our new superintendent. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the final days of school as well as a relaxing and safe beginning to summer.”
