PELHAM, N.Y. – Pelham students will have two fewer vacation days to enjoy on their spring break because of a state requirement that the district make up for days lost after Hurricane Sandy.
Interim Superintendent Charles Wilson said the school calendar will be changed so that students are in class the first two days of the break, Monday, March 25, and Tuesday, March 26.
“Those will be taken from what would have otherwise been an early spring break,” said Wilson.
Additional days will be taken from that week if school is closed any more days, Wilson said.
“Nobody knows if it’s going to be a snowy winter, and if those days are going to be necessary,” said Wilson.
“But I think people should be aware of this in making their plans,” he said.
