The Pelham Board of Education and the district's search firm, Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates are hosting two community forums on April 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the middle school library and April 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Pelham Memorial High School Alumni Hall.
Outgoing superintendent Peter Giarizzo annnounced he was resigning to become superintendent at a school on Long Island.
The district has also created an online survey for community members on the superintendent search. The survey will be open until April 26.
“Public participation will be an essential part of the search for our next superintendent,” said Board of Education President Marianne Gilland. “It is important for our consultants to learn what characteristics and strengths our community desires in our next superintendent. We encourage everyone to attend these forums and participate in the survey.”
Following the forums, survey and focus groups, the district will be create a leadership profile to recruit candidates that are the right fit for Pelham. A leadership profile will be created in May and recruitment will began thereafter, the district said.
