“Last night I had the good fortune of presenting the following candidates to the Board of Education for tenure, Superintendent of Schools Peter Giarrizzo said. "It was an amazing celebration of good teaching as well as a chance for us to recognize seven of Pelham's finest educators. I was especially excited to be able to celebrate tenure with the first cohort of teachers, administrators, and teaching assistants that I had the good fortune to hire as Superintendent.”

The educators recognized at the meeting were Paul Dal Cero, teaching assistant, Pelham Memorial High School; Steven Garcia, assistant superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Personnel; Michael Green, Special Education, Pelham Memorial High School; Joanna Kelly, Social Studies, Pelham Middle School; Valerie Lakestream, Foreign Language, Pelham Middle School/Pelham Memorial High School; Stephen Luciana, director of Health, Physical Education, and Athletics; and Marc Sirico, social studies, Pelham Memorial High School.

“Tenure is indeed an auspicious occasion," said Giarrizzo. "It is not easily earned and marks a commitment from the Pelham Public Schools to each candidate to support a career of good teaching, professional learning, and continued excellence to the students of Pelham.”
