Pelham Board Of Education Celebrates Four School Retirees

PELHAM, N.Y. - The Pelham School District said goodbye to several longtime educators who have announced their retirement.

At the latest Board of Education meeting, four retiring staff members were honored for their commitment to their students after serving in Pelham throughout the district in varying capacities for years.

Among the retirees were Prospect Hill Principal Richard Limato, Pelham Middle School art teacher Gail Orfei, custodian Bob Benkwitt, and Pelham Middle School teaching assistant Catherine Morgan.

At the June 6 meeting, all four retirees were given an engraved wooden pen and Schools Superintendent Peter Giarrizzo read each of them a personalized haiku poem.
