PELHAM, N.Y. Pelham students and teachers can expect new and improved school buildings when classes start Wednesday.
Pelham School board member Will Cavanagh thinks the upgrades will be well-received.
I think everyone will be surprised, and shocked, said Cavanagh.
Workers have been busy re-painting the insides of buildings including stairwells. New water fountains at Pelham High School are also being installed.
Twewnty-one out of date electric hand dryers are also going to be removed after the board approved the work at its Wednesdays board meeting.
The district also welcomes at least 12 new teachers. Three teachers are also returning to the district.
