Lyndhurst Police Receive Prestigious Award

LYNDHURST, N.J. – Lyndhurst officials are basking in the glow of recognition given to members of the borough police department through a prestigious award from The New Jersey Narcotics Enforcement Officers Association.

The NJNEOA selected the department’s Patrol/CriminaI Investigation divisions for this year's Individual Guns, Gangs, and Narcotics Law Enforcement Award.

"I couldn't be prouder of our police department," said Public Safety Director John Montillo. "From our police chief down, we have extremely talented and dedicated individuals who help to keep our community and residents safe."

The LPD individual recipients include Sgt. Richard Pizzuti, Detectives Vincent Auteri and Ron Guirland, and Officers Nick Abruscato, Chris Cuneo, Rob Fernandez, Charles Giangeruso, Paul Haggerty, William Kapp, Tom McSweeney, Steve Passamano, and Phil Reina.

"The NJNEOA recognizes those individuals who exhibit a high degree of professionalism, integrity and dedication, above and beyond the call of duty," Chief James O'Connor said. "The members of our department work and train hard every day.
