Police charge Garfield man in break-in attempt

ONLY ON CVP: Garfield police called in the middle of the night by a woman who said someone was trying to break into her apartment said they found the man standing outside holding a detached window screen.

The Ray Street resident called just after midnight Sunday, saying that someone “was attempting to break into her apartment through a window,” Capt. Darren Sucorowski said.

Jaroslaw Domurat, 38, was highly intoxicated and had to be taken to the hospital, Sucorowski said.

He remained held on $25,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail this morning, charged with attempted burglary.
