PELHAM MANOR, N.Y. Pelham Manor will receive $30,000 from two companies to review two potential new projects one that involves a new village-wide wireless communications network company and a possible new tenant at the site of the old Gristedes supermarket. The move was approved at Monday night's board of trustees meeting.
Village Manager John Pierpont said a site plan review is needed for the former Gristedes at 4775 Boston Post Road because Urstadt Biddle Properties is looking for a non-supermarket tenant. A site plan review is required because of the potential new occupant.
Urstadt Biddle will make a presentation on its proposed plan for the property at the boards July 16 meeting. Pierpont said he has no idea what their proposal is.
The other project is Extenet Systems , a telecommunications infrastructure company for wireless service providers based out of Chicago, according to the companys website.
The combined $30,000 for both projects is the cost for the village to review, including engineers, planners, and whatever else is involved, Pierpont said.
If they exceed it, they have to replenish it and if theres a balance left, then well return the balance to the applicant, Pierpont said, referring to the companies. He also announced the village would finish the 2011-2012 fiscal year in the black while Mayor James OConnor added any gains we can find for the 2012-2013 fiscal year are useful.
