Shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the driver was set to pull out of a parking area next to a Drake Avenue apartment building when she confused which gear her vehicle was in and she struck a 12- and 10-year old, leaving at least one with critical injuries.
In the immediate aftermath of the accident, police cordoned off the area to investigate, while New Rochelle firefighters were actively battling a blaze at the New York State Thruway storage facility near the Larchmont town line.
