YONKERS, N.Y. -- New York State Troopers issued 28 tickets for speeding during a speed enforcement detail on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers on Monday, Dec. 9, according to a police statement.

The detail was conducted from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and yielded a total of 36 tickets issued. Speeding was the most frequently cited violation during the detail, with 28 arrests. Two drivers were ticketed for driving while using their cell phones, State Police said.

All other tickets involved other vehicle and traffic violations including failure to adhere to the "move over law," the statement said.

Now if they can get the aggressive drivers that cut in and out making dangerous lane changes that would be nice. I'd be asking for too much if they grabbed all the pickups with commercial plates.

If the slower drivers would keep to the right except to pass, like we were all taught to do in drivers' ed, maybe there wouldn't be as much lane changing, not to mention less road rage.

Good work NYSP!

This should be done more often to make highways safer and prevent insurance premiums from rising

Do they arrest you for speeding these days? It's been a while, but last time I got nailed for speeding I just got a ticket.

Thanks for making the correction!
