PELHAM, N.Y. – A Pelham native is facing drug charges in Orange County after state police found him in possession of controlled substances following a routine traffic stop in New Windsor over the weekend.
State police confirmed that Pelham resident Theodore Assatly, 21, was arrested shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday after troopers stopped him for making an unsafe and illegal lane change.
Upon further investigation, police found that Assatly was in possession of marijuana, Ecstasy and cocaine. He was charged with a felony count of fourth-degree criminal possession of controlled substances and a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana.
Assatly was arraigned in New Windsor Town Court and was sent to the Orange County jail on a $10,000 cash bail. The suspect is due back in court in early January.
