Pelham Manor Police: Man Breaks Leg Playing Soccer

PELHAM MANOR, N.Y. – A man broke his leg at Omni Fitness Tuesday at 10:54 p.m. while trying to kick a soccer ball, Pelham Manor Police said. When officers arrived at the scene, the victim was “laying on the ground screaming” from the pain.

Witnesses told police that his “ankle twisted all the way around when he attempted to kick a soccer ball.” He was in too much pain to give his information, such as his name and address, to officers.

Paramedics and Empress Ambulance arrived on scene and the man was transported to Lawrence Hospital.

The Pelham Manor Police Department also reported the following:

Suspicious Person: A Pelham Manor officer pulled over a bicyclist Tuesday at 2:10 a.m. because police said he was riding around with “no apparent destination.” The man, who was riding in the area of Boston Post Road and Pelhamdale Avenue, claimed to be getting exercise, police said. After a check revealed no wants or warrants, he was sent on his way by the officer.

Neighborhood disturbance: A Wolfs Lane resident was having a disagreement with a landscaper Tuesday at 8:44 a.m., which prompted a call to Pelham Manor Police. The man told police that the landscaper “refused to leave his property.” The matter was settled by the officers.

Impounded car: Summonses were issued to a man for driving without a license Tuesday at 10:40 p.m. at Boston Post Road and Manor Ridge. Westchester Collision was notified and the vehicle was impounded.
